Aug 26, 2016
We have just had news that Twinwood Festival 2016 is now SOLD OUT!
It doesn't take long for the Weekend jammed pack of Swing, Jive, Boogie and good old fashioned Rock'n'Roll! If you have thought about 2017 yet, Then seriously consider getting in early.
The Main Arena is the festival focal point and takes you through a musical journey from the 1920s to the favourites of the 1940s and 1950s, and ending in the early 1960s.
Surrounded by woodland, the beautiful grass banked arena is the perfect place to sit with a picnic or just take everything in from the elevated decked bar area.
There are two dance floors, undercover viewing boxes and marquees, as well as traders and food vendors. We advise you to bring your own folding chairs. The Arena opens for breakfasts at 7am to campers only, and opens fully to the general public at 10.30am on Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
The Control Tower Stage
The Control Tower stage boasts three days of toe-tapping Rock ‘n’ Roll from the best live bands around. Hosted by Strollin' Steve and Galaxie Bob - and with a large undercover dance floor - this is the place for jiving.
In 2016, after the Rock 'n' Roll during the day, on the Saturday and Sunday evenings the stage will go back even further in time to host top Swing bands, playing the classic and endlessly danceable Swing Jazz of the 1920s, 30s and 40s.
The area also houses a large undercover seating area, traders, a bar and food vendors.
The Colonial Club
This venue features the very best in 1930s and 1940s entertainment. In the daytime you can take a seat at one of the many tables and enjoy tea, coffee, sandwiches, cake and hot food or browse the fascinating vintage market hosted by Discover Vintage, featuring homewares and clothing from the 1900 onwards.
The Colonial Club is home to a very popular all-day Carvery where you can enjoy classic British roast dinners and also vegetarian options. The carvery has its own large seating area, and due to its popularity, you will be able to make reservations next year to book your table in advance.
In the evening, this huge themed marquee offers a superb array of live acts well into the early hours, all hosted by the dynamic Dusty Limits. The Colonial Club also hosts the finals for the Mr and Miss Vintage UK competition during the festival, as well as an exciting new talent competition; details of this for 2016 will be announced soon.
